American Health Care: A System in Crisis discusses the countless problems found within the American health-care system. There is the discussion from various vantage points including the insurance companies, health-care providers, and the patient/consumer. It further discusses the government's role in this ever-growing national crisis. Upon discussing the many areas found in health care, a serious dialogue ensues as to possible cures to the cancerous problems invading every facet of American life. While it is universally accepted that the United States has the best health care in the world, it is plagued by skyrocketing cost which is becoming increasingly unaffordable to many Americans. As a result, it negatively impacts individual lives and a larger and larger segment of society. The interventions are postulated from each of the three perspectives and the ongoing role of government in the provision of health care.
