The city's inevitable expansion is taking place through the integration of peri-urban areas according to rather complex procedures. Until recently, the development of peri-urban areas in Bouaflé occurred rapidly on both sides of the Bandama River. Despite the urban master plans in effect, urban expansion has primarily been directed toward the area east of the river. The areas west of the river have not been a focus of significant interest among the population for a long time. The construction of the new bridge connecting these two distinct areas has sparked interest among local residents in the previously underutilized area, despite the presence of SOLIBRA, the largest industrial company and a major employer. The objective of this book is to analyze the bridge's impact on the dynamics of this new urban frontier. Since the construction of the new bridge in 2015, urban development appears to have shifted toward the western bank of the Bandama River, which was previously neglected. This urban growth is also driving significant pressure on land prices in Bouaflé.
