Colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors worldwide. In recent years, the incidence of colorectal cancer in China has shown an increasing trend. If early lesions can be detected and treated promptly through opportunistic screening for colorectal cancer, the occurrence of carcinogenesis can be prevented. Colonoscopy is currently the preferred method for colorectal cancer screening. However, poor patient compliance with colonoscopy screening not only limits the implementation of opportunistic screening but also affects the detection rate of early-stage colorectal cancer.

Single-operator colonoscopy is a relatively difficult technique to master. The skill level of the endoscopist depends on their proficiency and dexterity in operating the instruments. Improper operation not only causes discomfort to the examinee but can also lead to serious complications. As a result, some high-risk populations repeatedly refuse colonoscopic examination, thereby delaying diagnosis and treatment.

This book addresses different anatomical sites, different patient populations with varying levels of difficulty, and different operational challenges. From the perspective of integrating medical and engineering principles, it introduces the colonoscopy operating technique based on the theory of the "flexible shaft balance shortening method." This work provides guidance for improving both the operator's technical execution and the examinee's experience during the procedure. In addition to serving as a learning resource for endoscopists at all levels, it may also serve as a reference for physicians in related clinical specialties, including internal medicine, surgery, and proctology, who are engaged in digestive diseases.

大肠癌是全球最常见的恶性肿瘤之一，近年来我国大肠癌发病率呈攀升趋势。如果能通过大肠癌伺机性筛查及时发现早期病变并予以治疗，就可避免癌变的发生。结肠镜是目前大肠癌筛查的首选方式，但人群对结肠镜筛查的依从性不佳，不仅限制了大肠癌伺机性筛查的开展，而且影响到早期大肠癌的检出率。

结肠镜单人操作是比较难以掌握的技术，内镜医生的水平取决于操作仪器设备的熟练和巧妙程度，操作不当不仅给被检者带来痛苦，而且容易引发严重的并发症，甚至一些高发人群一再拒绝结肠镜检查，以致延误病情。
