There is increasing demand for technical textiles with properties such as reduced flammability, antimicrobial properties and aromatization. Crazing technology can be applied to polymer fibres to produce a number of these properties, and has the potential to reduce costs and improve quality in comparison to other traditional methods of fibre modification. This book reviews PET fibers crazing in surface-active liquids and the use of the crazing mechanism for fibre modification by functional additives.
