When a temporal rift brings his formidable mother, the Acting President, and his hardened former squad-mate Grizz into the past, Adán thinks he has found his reinforcements. Instead, he finds a nightmare of a different kind. Their high-tech weaponry is bricking in the humid colonial air, leaving them to defend the line with 18th-century chemistry and raw Marine instinct.

But the true threat isn't just the monsters outside. A holographic ghost of Adán's father has surfaced, revealing that Adán's entire 'heroic' legacy is a lie designed to mask his family's criminal syndicate roots. Battling Kandahar PTSD flashbacks and the weight of a bloodline he never knew, Adán must hold the ward at any cost. If he breaks, the Viper's Crown virus will anchor in the past, and the future will cease to exist.
