Epictetus was born a slave. His master crippled him. Rome exiled him. And out of that life came the most dangerous idea ever written down: no one can touch you without your consent.
His handbook, the Enchiridion, has been the entry point to Stoicism for nineteen centuries. This edition makes it usable.
