The main goal of this research, conducted from Mar §2004-Aug 2004, is to detail the executive staffing §practices of US-Mexican joint ventures. As the US §and Mexico increasingly engage in global business, §multinationals adopt joint ventures as the §predominant mode of entry. Therefore executive §recruitment and selection practices, is a critical §first step for international joint ventures. §However, there is a paucity of research on executive §staffing practices of US-Mexican joint ventures. §This book helps to overcome this research gap by §comprehensively showcasing executive staffing §practices of US-Mexican joint ventures. The main §results identified external and internal methods of §recruitment and a variety of hiring practices to §glean the best talent. This research also examines §the role of firm characteristics on executive §staffing practices and details the challenges of §cross-cultural survey research. This information §will provide valuable information to HRM §practitioners to get a global perspective on §staffing practices and researchers will gather §important guidelines for international research.
