About the Book
A new generation of Empaths has emerged who are ordinary and extraordinary people who are highly sensitive to others' emotions, thoughts, and experiences. However, there is a cost to being empathic with others. Healing Empathy Fatigue is an invitation for you to take a self-care journey for your soul. This book is developed for everyday people with the intention to identify, recognize, prevent, and decrease the experience of empathy fatigue and cultivate empathy resilience. Empathy Fatigue is a phenomenon and concept created by Dr. Mark Stebnicki in 1998 based on his experiences as a clinical rehabilitation and mental health practitioner, as well as his work in disaster mental health counseling. He shares years of wisdom and personal experiences influenced by his clients' painful stories of extraordinary stressful and traumatic events such as combat, complex grief, loss, dying and death, and psychosocial adjustment to chronic illness and disability.
