It began with a Magical Dream that became a desperate reality...
Worried for her injured best friend, Molly Pringle, Heather Nighborne departs Earth's small-town Noble for Evermore. While seeking to find her, Heather discovers the once-idyllic Realm to be in the ever-deepening throes of Darkness, its inhabitants at the mercy of the corrupt forces of the Kratkurian Alliance - best known as the KA - and the quintet of treacherous, fractious, and squabbling Sorceress Sisters of the Dahklarr Herth.
On her journey, Heather, Evermore's prophesied green-eyed Maiden of the Evermore Portent, witnesses firsthand the KA's mandated incursions into the Evermorian forests by Crown soldiers as they attempt to capture and kill Maidens secluded there in exile - Maidens who at one time guided HumanKinders in the Light, the wise and protective women warriors having been cast from power by an arrogant, disenchanted, and rebelling HumanKind at the commencement of the Bloodlet Overthrow.
Meanwhile, after a horrific and devastating encounter, Molly is left to wander on her own in Evermore, the girl having to fend for herself in the turbulent Realm turned upside-down. Finally returning home to the Bristol House to reunite with Heather, they both set out again with an unenlightened Mrs. Pringle, Molly's mother, only to cross the TimeLight Bridge and become unexpectedly and horrifically separated from one another in snowy Winterspire.
From that point forward, the now older TimeLight Travelers must each forge their individual paths, left to journey and undergo their own extraordinary adventures and life-threatening encounters among the four seasonal planet kingdoms of Evermore: confronting Winterspire's Dark Sorceress Drakiera within the precarious confines of the deceptive Castle SnowDrift; stumbling upon the secretive and deadly Meersommé, a young woman warrior who has taken to hiding while living in forested seclusion; being rescued by Sperrin, the enigmatic nighttime infiltrator and operator who comes and goes ostensibly at whim; compassionately befriended by the young and affable SpringShootorian street scamp, Easyside, along with his street-familiar mates and habits; being hilariously ambushed by a band of roving and seemingly incompetent Autumnslovian misfits - Heather, Molly, and Mrs. Pringle experiencing all new characters along their unpredictable routes as they endeavor to survive and reunite.
All the while, insidious at every turn, the evil forces in the Realm - the Influenced of the Dahklarr Herth - continue to surround the three Earthly adventurers in Darkness, making their lives difficult, adding mystery to the confusion and intrigue. And when Autumnsloe's sorceress, Mistraya, gets wind of Heather's arrival, the scheming Dark-hearted enchantress commands her army of murderous scouts to close in on Evermore's Maiden Portent, looking to abruptly curtail her stay.
