Francis M. Gibbons is the best-selling and most prolific Mormon biographer of the past century. He is the author of more than twenty books. He is a former full-time missionary, bishop, stake president, patriarch, secretary to the First Presidency and member of the First Quorum of the Seventy. He has written a biography of each of the sixteen presidents of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and has worked personally with seven of them: Joseph Fielding Smith, Harold B. Lee, Spencer W. Kimball, Ezra Taft Benson, Howard W. Hunter, Gordon B. Hinckley and Thomas S. Monson. Daniel Bay Gibbons is a former trial attorney and judge and is the author of one previous book. He has served as a full-time missionary in Germany, twice as a bishop and as president of the Russia Novosibirsk Mission, the most remote mission on earth which includes central Siberia and all of Kazakhstan.
