Even if you are a Christian, you may not be very familiar with the book of Titus.
The book of Titus is a power-packed but often avoided little book. It seems that people often go to 1 and 2 Timothy instead. 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus make up what are called the pastoral epistles. The Apostle Paul, knowing that he was coming to the end of his life, instructed Timothy and then Titus, two young men that he called his sons in the faith, his true sons in the faith, indicating he had led them to the Lord. Paul had limited time, and he had to make it count.
So, what did he say to Titus, and what can we learn from this little book? One of the many things we can learn in the book of Titus is how to overcome corruption and false teaching. What should your church leaders be teaching? How should you be treating other brothers and sisters in Christ? What should your local church look like? Although the book of Titus is over 2,000 years old, there is still much we can learn from it today.
