The holidays of Passover, Shavuot, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot are also mentioned, as is the Jubilee Year, the Shabbat, and the Sabbatical Year. However, Rav Berg reminds us that the purpose of the Bible is not religion, instead the Bible is a code that describes the spiritual machinations of this physical world. He says:

"The essential reason of sacrifice is not to appease God but to cleanse ourselves; to clean ourselves of corrupted DNA that we brought upon ourselves."
