This book has been written from the heart of a pastor. He watched as churches failed and asked, "Why?" For the last twenty-five years, he has served as a transitional pastor.
When a pastor leaves, it is most likely that the church is experiencing decline. As a transitional pastor, his job was to prepare the church for its next pastor. Churches that were willing to evaluate their problems, solve them, and follow God's Plan became successful, growing churches.
The failing churches that refused to change, sadly, continued to fail. To continue to do the same thing the same way and expect a different result, as we all know, is the definition of insanity.
In the first 29 years of his ministry, he pastored successful, growing churches, using God's plan for church growth. The church he pastored before retiring to transitional pastor ministry was failing in a major city. This church had dwindled to 18 people, including four from his family. This church grew to an average of 400 with a high day of over 900. This was done using God's Plan, and it worked!
