Apart from being a prominent poet of Urdu, Agha Jani Kashmiri was an actor, story writer and screenwriter of the Indian film industry. He has written an extremely interesting and soul-stirring autobiography titled "Sahr hone tak (Till Dawn)". In which there is the essence of Agha Jani's life's efforts, deprivations and experiences, and his distinctive style of conversation is the spice of resurrection, which is born from the mixture of Lucknow and Bombay, and there is also the unabashed boldness of expression that a writer has. It comes here only when he makes the dangerous decision to speak the truth and nothing but the truth in the court of life. The author of 'Sahr hone tak (Till Dawn)' has described the history, culture, society and customs of his time in such a way that a distinct color has become prominent in the book.
