As Book Three for Syndicates starts, Hannah is facing the death of a loved one once again. This time, she has to attend the funeral of her father, where her stepmother hands her a mysterious key. Her father kept it all his life, but the secret to what it unlocked has never been revealed. Once Hannah finds and unlocks the box the key goes to, she and her son Kaji uncover a coded message that may very well destroy the world if its contents are revealed.
In the meantime, Hannah's health declines, and she seeks help from the oyabun of the Chinese Syndicate. Zhao Chaoxiang is currently at odds with his former ally, Vladimir Aslanov of the Russian Syndicate, dragging Hannah into their dispute over the death of Aslanov's daughter. They discover Aslanov has been experimenting with a bomb so powerful, it could change the face of war forever, all while destroying everything in the process.
Syndicates is an alternative history thriller series that started in the 1930s and runs through 1949 in its conclusion.
