This book highlights the concepts of technology financing, technology and innovation management, technology investments and commercialization. It relies on three main approaches: National Innovation Systems (NIS), the Triple Helix Model, and Micheal Porter's Diamond. It highlights the main difficulties faced by new technology-based firms in financing their business projects, R&D investments, and commercialization of new technologies, and provides an illustration of the various funding alternatives - from commercial banking, to business angels, private equity and venture capital, to stock markets.
