On April 1st 2023 we unexpectedly lost our 21 year old grandson to Bacterial Meningitis. In just 48 hours from receiving a phone call to say he was unwell, he died. We are now 16 months down the line on our grief journey as grandparents. This is one of the hardest things that we have ever been through, as what we are suffering is a double whammy, because not only are we grieving for our grandson Matthew but also for our daughter Sue who has lost her son, an unimaginable trauma for any parent to have to go through. The reason I have written our story is because here in the UK we could find very little or no help for people like us. It is my hope that as you read my true and honest account often written through tears, that you will find things that you can relate to and won't feel so alone on your journey. I will add that I am a committed Christian and therefore mention my faith and how it has helped me. This book may be ideal for counsellors interested in grief work.
