The Holy Quran, translated by Abdullah Yusuf Ali, is a widely popular edition renowned for its high-quality English translation. This sacred book of Islam is believed to be the word of God, revealed to Prophet Muhammad over a period of 23 years through the angel Gabriel. While it was initially committed to memory by his companions, literate believers made written copies during the Prophet's lifetime.
The first full compilation of the Quran was done by the first Caliph Abu Bakar, and later recompiled in the original dialect by the third Caliph Uthman.
