A family canoeing vacation turns into a terrifying ordeal as a mother and her children are forced to flee through the wilderness, pursued by a relentless stranger. When Sarah, Bobby, and their three children stop at Picnic Landing, halfway through a day of whitewater canoeing, all they expect is a quiet lunch. Bobby takes a walk up the riverbank and returns running for his life, chased by a pistol-wielding stranger.
Thus begins a terrifying ordeal that will push Sarah and her children to the limits of their physical and spiritual strength. Along the way they meet a mysterious recluse who tries to help them, but whose personal story challenges Sarah's relationship with God as much as the relentless pursuit.
Note to any Christian reader: This is not a typical Christian novel. It is a portrayal of faith, not a promotion of it. If it strengthens faith, it is by challenging and examining it. The opinions of a doubter are expressed at length and not fully refuted. I'm explaining this, author to reader, because it doesn't do either of us any good if you are disappointed.
