The BaseStation software program that ships with the SBS-1er is a powerful application that provides great functionality including the identification of aircraft by call sign, altitude, speed and other parameters where such information is transmitted. The application uses a received aircraft's unique Mode-S hex code to retrieve manufacturer, ownership, configuration and other background information from user sharable and editable SQLite database. This book covers the installation of the SBS-1er receiver and many aspects of the BaseStation software including how it may be customised to suit each individual.
