After Chris's sister is taken during a routine training mission, and the Navy Brass unwilling to do anything about it, Chris decides to recruit those closest to him to help find his sister and bring her home. With the rescue becoming more difficult, Chris looks for aid from other worlds as he makes his way across the galaxy.
Excerpt
I stand straight up and take a deep breath. "Here it is people. We have lost someone today. And high command apparently doesn't give a shit. Right now, the Titan is heading back to the academy and there is going to be a memorial service for the abductees who are presumed lost. And I do not accept that. So, I intend to get Rose and everyone else back myself. " I say. Hey, that was not too bad of a speech if I do say so myself.
"You what?' Lilly says, who doesn't seem as moved as I was from my little speech. "How?"
Looking right at Lilly. "I am going to commandeer a ship from this very hangar deck." I say so proudly. I mean it did take me a good hour to think of this.
Lilly's eyes go wide. "Have you gone mad."
"Don't you want her back Lilly? To be able to laugh with her. To cry with her. To just be with her. Are you going to accept the fact that we are moving away from Sia without even knowing what has happened?" I ask her.
"We will know what happened once we get back." Lilly says.
Taking a step back so I can see everyone. "And by then it will be too late. By the time we get back she could be dead. They all could be dead. And I get it. She already could be dead. But until I see it with my own eyes. I will try anything and everything I can to get her back." I say looking at everyone, hoping that they will join me.
